"Massage With A Purpose: Reclaim Strength, Balance and Peace in Your Body"
Hope’s Hands Relaxation Massage:
Relaxation is more than a moment—it’s a purposeful return to balance. This customized session is designed to gently release tension, calm the nervous system, and restore a sense of ease throughout the body and mind.
Each relaxation massage is thoughtfully tailored using a blend of soothing techniques such as Swedish massage, gentle myofascial work, guided breathing, and aromatherapy. Rather than following a fixed routine, your session is adapted in real time to meet your body’s needs, ensuring a deeply supportive and personalized experience.
Rooted in the belief that wellness is a tool for empowerment, this service is delivered in a professional, clean, and calming environment where you are encouraged to slow down, reconnect, and feel fully cared for. You will always have a voice in your session, with open communication and consent guiding each technique used.
Whether you are managing stress, feeling overwhelmed, or simply in need of restorative time, this massage offers a safe space to reset—supporting your body’s natural ability to heal and helping you reclaim a sense of calm, clarity, and balance.
Hope's Hands Therapeutic Massage is a restorative experience designed to promote relaxation, relieve pain, improve range of motion and bring calm and balance to the body-mind connection. Because the human body is complex and ever-changing, we believe that limiting a therapeutic session to just one style—like Swedish or deep tissue—oversimplifies your needs and underestimates the value of your therapist’s expertise. Instead, we blend a variety of techniques based on what you need for the session.
Each session is thoughtfully customized to meet your unique goals, without separating or charging differently for specific modalities*. Your care should be based on what’s best for your body—not on pricing tiers. For this reason, pricing for therapeutic massage is based on time allotted.
Techniques used in a therapeutic massage may include swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular, acupressure, reflexology, cupping, myofascial manipulation, heat in the form of hot towels or hot stones, aromatherapy and guided breathing techniques. (Scroll to the bottom of this page to learn more about these techniques)
Your body-your choice: you always get verbal say-so on what modalities are tried or used during your session. You will be consulted before each session and before specific techniques are applied throughout the session. You will have the option to decline modalities in favor of techniques you are more comfortable with. Your feedback is welcome before, during and after a session so we can continue to tailor future sessions to your needs.
*Some specialty massages, such as Lymphatic Drainage, Pregnancy and Menopause massages use oils, tools and techniques designed for these specific conditions. Specialty massages are not interchangeable with a functional therapeutic massage and will have different pricing terms based on maintenance and cost of equipment used.
This deeply relaxing technique—developed by noted massage therapist and author, Claire Marie Miller, who was trained in the Vodder method—moves lymph congestion and aids your body's natural ability to clear toxins from your body. A very detailed health intake will be required to determine if Lymphatic Drainage is the right therapy for your needs. Take home your own dry brush and bottle of castor oil to use at home between sessions.*

Nurturing the Mother® pregnancy and postpartum massage utilizes a comfortable, secure side-lying position to avoid undue pressure on a growing abdomen and the lower back. Mothers are completely supported by pillows, keeping hip, knee and ankle on the same level to avoid pulling on the sacroiliac joint and to maximize blood and lymph circulation. Side-lying is the safest for mother and baby, and educates the client about the ideal sleeping position.
What to Expect with Nurturing The Mother® Pregnancy Massage
Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes to ease tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. This classic stroke is perfect for areas that don't need deep tissue and are especially beneficial for the extremities (arms and legs)
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve chronic muscle tension and improve mobility. Focuses is on broader areas of muscle tissue, using long, gliding "ironing" strokes to break down adhesions, relieve tension and elongate muscle fibers.
Often confused with deep tissue massage, NMT uses specific techniques to target trigger points, which are knots of muscle tissue that cause pain and often refer pain to other parts of the body. NMT is often more intense than deep tissue and is beneficial for conditions involving nerve entrapment, such as sciatic pain.
Based on the principle that specific acupressure points on the feet correspond to different organs and systems in the body, reflexology can help to relieve stress, improve circulation, and promote overall wellness. Reflexology acupressure points can also be found in the hands and ears.
Enjoy the special properties of essential oils and oil blends while you practice deep relaxing breaths during your massage. If you have sensitivities to certain smells, please let us know ahead of time so we can skip this technique during your session.
Smooth, heated stones are used to massage and warm the muscles to allow the muscle fibers to relax. The heat from the stones helps to improve circulation and feels like a warm hug on your skin.
Myo= muscle, fascial = fascia. Fascia is one densely woven continuous structure that surrounds all the muscles, organs and cells in your body like a web. The loss of fascia flexibility causes a myriad of issues including limited movement and chronic pain. Various methods such as skin rolling, trigger point therapy and dynamic cupping are used to help restore flexibility in the fascia.
Massage Cupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy. While massage is performed by applying pressure, cupping instead uses negative pressure to pull, lift, open and expand the body’s soft tissues. Static cupping (the cups stay in place for 10-15 minutes) is a favorite among athletes, while dynamic cupping (suction is applied and the cup is dragged gently across the skin) is often used as a type of myofascial release.
All of the modalities in this section can be applied during a Functional Therapeutic Massage and are not purchased as add-ons or as a differently priced service. Please discuss your treatment goals with your therapist prior to your session. You may just want mostly swedish or mostly deep tissue. You may want to try cupping in one area. Communication is key. Your body, your choice.
The trademarked specialty services are designed with specific conditions in mind. If you choose one of these, please trust the process and allow the techniques to work their magic.
